Absolutely beautiful!
This is an exceptional Art of ... book! The selection of art and how it is put together is beautiful. I also loved reading it! The description of the thought processes, tests, and changes that the animators went through gives great insight into the creation of this movie. It is a joy to read and look at.
Gorgeous Art, but Sparse Text with Few Details about the Storytelling Process
This book is full of gorgeous concept art, but it is primarily visual and does not include the in-depth text that I expected. Even though other Disney art books share substantial details about the character development and storytelling processes, this book focuses on costume design and setting, sharing specific, self-contained quotes from creators without the detailed text that would synthesize aspects of the movie's development into an unfolding story. I had hoped to learn about the different ideas that the creators considered before deciding on this one, and I expected a behind-the-scenes look into how the writers developed their narrative, but this book didn't go there at all. I picked up details here and there that came through as context for other things, but my curiosity is still unsatisfied. This is truly just an art book, and even though the quotes provide plenty of insight into the maturing characters and the kingdom of Arendelle, this wasn't nearly as eye-opening or interesting as the Frozen and Tangled art books. Still, even though this book did not meet my expectations, I enjoyed it. I'm still giving it four stars, because it is a solid and enjoyable visual guide that is full of lovely art, interesting costume designs, and artists' insight into the deeper meaning and character symbolism behind the intricate details in different dresses, cloaks, traveling outfits, and capes. The sections on the visual settings are also interesting, filled with appealing art and details about how the artists researched naturally occurring vegetation from Norway to incorporate real-life details into their complex, richly animated fantasy land. I enjoyed this very much for what it was, and I will definitely look through it again.
Highly recommend!
I absolutely love this art book! Not only does it show detailed character costume concepts and designs, it also shows a breakdown of the musical sequences which I found really interesting! As an artist and Disney fan, I enjoyed reading all the details and meanings put behind each aspect of design. If you or someone you know is a fan of Frozen 2 or character design, you will definitely enjoy this book!
Stunning!
This art book is amazing, there are so many pages full of art and information about the movie. I definitely recommend this to any frozen fan!
Frozen art book review. 10/10
I was stuck on what art book to get for a long time. Recently i saw my friend bought herself one. So i went looking and i was on deciding to buy it. But frozen spoke out to me to get it. So i got it since i have wanted one and i loved the frozen franchise. This book is worth it and especially if you cosplay. This book will help me when i fix up anna and make travel anna. I even got the cd with it on the same day and it was worth it. The book is super pretty and well detailed on how they made everything and talk about each section of the movie and each elements. I would buy again and recommend it anyone on an art book.
Great book, but the one I received was printed badly...
I love Frozen 2, and I was excited to buy this book because I already own the original Art of Frozen. I was slightly disappointed, however, because a lot of the book pages were stuck together. It's as if the printer didn't successfully separate all the pages at the top. I was able to deal with the situation because I have a decent paper cutter, but some of the pages still look rough and unfinished. I wonder if other people are having this problem. Content-wise, this is a beautiful book.
Great for a curious Frozen fan.
This is a beautiful book, it feels like a “behind the scenes” of Frozen 2. The images are beautiful and detailed, the quality is perfect. The book has details about all the characters, the elements, the different settings throughout the movie, and the songs. I don’t collect Disney books, but loved both Frozen movies and really wanted to know more about the making of them. I would recommend the book for anyone who loved the movies.
Beautiful book!
The artistry of Frozen 2 was, on the screen, quite a brilliant spectacle. To know how it was all done - to see the original artwork, to hear stories from the creators, and to see the evolution of characters and landscape designs - is incredible. This is a fun book, great for adults and kids, and something we leave out for everyone to look through. I know it's inspired me to make a few costumes!
Love it
Stunning artwork great price very happy!!
A must-have for any Frozen 2 superfan
For starters, the quality of the book is amazing. The pages are thick and glossy, and there are detailed captions to explain the significance of the images shown. This book gives an in depth analysis of every costume seen in the movie. It features sketches of ideas for costumes that ultimately didn't make it into the final cut as well as drawings of the final costumes. The book also discusses the settings of the movie. It puts a large emphasis on color schemes and how colors were used throughout the movie to emphasize certain aspects of the characters and settings, but it also makes sure to thoroughly discuss other significant elements of the costumes and settings. This is a highly enjoyable book, even for someone who doesn't particularly enjoy reading.
